Abbey Muza is a Chicago-based artist and weaver with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has shown work locally at Threewalls, Sullivan Gallery, and Cleve Carney Gallery. Her awards include an Individual Artist Project Grant from the City of Chicago and a Point Foundation Scholarship. Prior to her time at Alternative Worksite, she completed a collaborative residency with artisans in Sefrou, Morocco. At Alternative Worksite, she began a series of hand-woven CMYK velvet compositions, using as her starting point Sacher-Masoch's Venus in Furs and Deleuze's interpretation of the text.
