Dakota Higgins received his BFA from Otis College of Art and Design in 2017. His practice grapples with ideas surrounding mass media and popular culture, wherein content from movies, music, television, and commercials is often incorporated into still and moving images, sculptures, and performances. By employing speculation, free-association, juxtaposition, and poetry, his work aims to promote new ways of thinking about pop-cultural texts that advocate for a humanism in an age of hyper-digitization, mediation, and virtual reality.
