Sylvie Hayes-Wallace is a Chicago based artist who graduated with a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017. Her practice includes sculpture, photo, drawing, and writing. In her work sand, paper-mache, cement, clay, adorned necklaces, picked flowers, and ripped up fabric hold onto her touch and the heat of her body. She thinks about collisions and slippage within her work, especially between violence, sloppiness, adolescence, and tenderness.

Recent exhibitions include summer forever(Chicago), Mutualistic Symbiosis(Mexico City), andDevil hooves, a paper cut tongue and three pink kisses on a bald head (London). Sylvie just finished a residency at NYU in New York and is currently working towards an upcoming exhibition at New Works (Chicago).
